Voice for Health: The Use of Vocal Biomarkers from Research to Clinical Practice
Hamburg (Germany), February 02, 2022: The evolution of voice technology in research and clinical practice, audio signal analysis, and natural language processing is leading to a variety of use cases of the human voice in diagnosing, classification and monitoring of diseases.
This paper outlines the use of vocal biomarkers for diagnosis, risk prediction, and remote monitoring of various clinical outcomes and symptoms. Furthermore the authors offer an overview of the various applications of voice for health-related purposes, and discuss the potential of this rapidly evolving environment from a research, patient, and clinical perspective.
